Rolltop Garage Doors

Garage door repair in Milton

Broken springs, doors off track, openers and new installs. Rolltop Garage Doors will replace springs in pairs, test the safety reversal, and get the door closed the same day.

Same-day spring replacementSprings replaced in pairsSafety reversal testedInsured technicians

Rolltop Garage Doors will do the repair most people find out about on the worst possible morning: a snapped spring and a car locked in the garage. Springs go back in as a matched pair with the right wire size and cycle rating, cables and rollers get checked while we are there, and the safety reversal is tested before we leave. A noisy door usually needs a tune-up rather than a new door, and we will tell you so.

Rolltop Garage Doors is invented, and that number is a 555 line. Your site says your name.

Services

The work garage door technicians actually sell.

Written out properly, because a list of one-word services tells a homeowner nothing. Delete the ones you do not do and add the ones we missed.

Broken spring replacement

Torsion and extension springs replaced in pairs with the correct wire size and cycle rating, wound safely with proper bars rather than improvised tools.

Emergency door off track

A door jammed open, hanging off the track or hit by a vehicle secured the same day so the house is not left open overnight.

Opener installation & repair

Belt, chain and wall-mount openers installed and set up, with the safety reversal and photo eyes tested and the travel limits set properly.

New door supply & installation

Insulated steel, carriage and modern glass doors measured to your opening, with the old door and hardware taken away.

Cables, rollers, hinges & bearings

The parts that make a door loud and jerky replaced, so it runs quietly instead of announcing every arrival to the bedroom above.

Weather seals & bottom rubber

Perimeter stop, bottom seal and threshold replaced to keep out snow, water and the animals that find a quarter-inch gap.

Safety inspection & tune-up

Balance, spring tension, cable condition, reversal test and lubrication — a fifteen-year door that gets serviced outlasts one that never does.

Commercial & rolling steel doors

Overhead and rolling doors for shops and warehouses, including operators, loading dock hardware and scheduled maintenance.

Credentials

The things a customer checks before they ring.

Listed near the top of the page instead of buried in an About tab. Fill in your numbers and delete anything you do not hold.

  • Trained garage door technicians

Manufacturer and industry training on torsion systems, operators and commercial doors.

  • Openers meeting entrapment protection requirements

Photo eyes and automatic reversal installed and tested on every opener we service — required on residential operators.

  • Correct spring specification

Springs sized to the door's actual weight and cycle rating, not the cheapest one that fits the shaft.

  • Manufacturer-authorised dealer

Authorised for the door and opener lines we install, so warranty claims are handled by us.

Warranty terms on the invoice, including on springs.

  • WSIB coverage & $2M liability

Certificates provided on request before we attend.

Questions

What people ask garage door technicians.

Answered on your site, so the same conversation does not happen on the phone six times a week. Edit any of them.

My spring broke. Can I open the door in the meantime?

Please do not try. A double car door weighs well over a hundred kilograms and the spring is what carries that weight — with it broken, the door is effectively dead weight held by cables that were never meant to take it. Leave it down, do not run the opener, and park elsewhere. Replacing a spring is a same-day repair for us and an emergency room visit for a lot of people who try it themselves.

Why replace both springs when only one broke?

Because they were installed together and have the same number of cycles on them. The second one is typically weeks or months from failing, and a matched pair keeps the door balanced. Replacing one means paying the service call twice and running an unbalanced door in between, which is hard on the opener.

How long should a garage door spring last?

Springs are rated in cycles — one open and one close is a cycle — and a standard spring is often rated around ten thousand, which is roughly seven to twelve years for an average family. A high-cycle spring costs a modest amount more and lasts substantially longer, which is worth it if your garage door is your main door.

My door is loud. Does it need replacing?

Almost never. Noise is usually worn rollers, dry hinges, loose hardware or bearings on the way out, and a tune-up with new nylon rollers transforms how a door sounds — particularly with a bedroom above the garage. Replace the door when the panels are damaged or rusted through, or when you want insulation, not because it is noisy.

Is an insulated door worth it?

If the garage is attached, heated, used as a workshop, or has a room above it, yes. The insulation also makes the door quieter and considerably more rigid, which means it holds up better over the years. For a detached, unheated garage used for storage, the payback is much weaker and a non-insulated door is a reasonable choice.

Do you test the safety features?

Every visit. Residential openers are required to reverse when something blocks the door, and we test both the photo eyes and the contact reversal and adjust the force settings. It takes two minutes and it is the single most important thing in a garage with kids or pets in it.
