Postline Fencing

Fence installation in Milton

Wood, chain link, vinyl, aluminum and gates. Postline Fencing will call the locates, set the posts below frost depth, and check the by-law before quoting.

Posts below the frost lineLocates called before we digProperty line respectedFully insured

Postline Fencing will build fences that are still straight when the warranty runs out, and that comes down to depth, drainage and the corners. Locates get called on every job, posts go in concrete below the frost line, gates are hung on braced frames, and we check your municipality's fence by-law before quoting rather than after the complaint. If a section can be repaired instead of replaced, we will say so.

Postline Fencing is invented, and that number is a 555 line. Your site says your name.

Services

The work fence installers actually sell.

Written out properly, because a list of one-word services tells a homeowner nothing. Delete the ones you do not do and add the ones we missed.

Wood privacy fences

Pressure treated and cedar board fences with posts set in concrete below the frost line, and rails fastened so the boards do not sag in year three.

Chain link & security fencing

Residential and commercial chain link, galvanised or vinyl coated, stretched properly so it stays tight instead of waving down the line.

Vinyl & composite fencing

Low-maintenance panel systems installed with proper post reinforcement, which is what stops the flex people complain about with vinyl.

Aluminum & ornamental fencing

Powder-coated aluminum and wrought iron style fencing, including the heights and picket spacing pool enclosure by-laws require.

Gates & automated entrances

Walk gates, double drive gates and automated openers hung on frames that will still swing true after a couple of winters.

Fence repair & post replacement

Leaning or snapped posts replaced and sagging sections rehung, without tearing out a fence that is otherwise perfectly good.

Farm, ranch & deer fencing

Page wire, board and high-tensile fencing for acreage, with braced corners that hold tension rather than pulling in over a season.

Post-hole drilling & locates

Utility locates called before we drill, every time, because a fence post through a gas or hydro line is a very expensive fence.

Credentials

The things a customer checks before they ring.

Listed near the top of the page instead of buried in an About tab. Fill in your numbers and delete anything you do not hold.

  • Utility locates on every job

Locates requested through the provincial one-call service and cleared before any post hole is drilled.

  • Municipal fence by-law compliance

Heights, setbacks and pool enclosure requirements checked against your municipality's by-law before we quote.

  • Posts set below frost depth

Concrete footings to local frost depth, which is the difference between a straight fence and a wavy one.

  • Line fence and survey pins respected

We build to the pins or to what you and your neighbour agree in writing — never to a guess at the line.

  • Written workmanship warranty

Our installation is warrantied, and material warranties are passed straight through to you.

  • WSIB coverage & $2M liability

    Certificates supplied before work begins.

On your booking calendar

The jobs people book you for.

All ten carry the same tools — booking, photo quotes, galleries, reviews, licence details. These are the ones that tend to look right on this kind of work, drawn here as Postline Fencing. Start with one, or open its live demo first.

Questions

What people ask fence installers.

Answered on your site, so the same conversation does not happen on the phone six times a week. Edit any of them.

Do I need a permit, and how high can I build?

Most municipalities set maximum heights by location — typically lower in the front yard than the back — and many require a permit for pool enclosures specifically. Corner lots have sight-line rules that catch people out. We check your municipality's by-law before quoting and tell you what it allows, because the enforcement letter arrives after the fence is up.

Where exactly is the property line?

Only your survey knows. Fence posts, hedges and the previous owner's fence are frequently not on the line, and building to the wrong one creates a problem that surfaces at resale. If you have a survey we build to the pins. If you do not, the usual approaches are agreeing a shared line with your neighbour in writing, or building a comfortable distance inside your own side.

Does my neighbour have to share the cost?

For a fence on the boundary between two properties there is legislation in most provinces covering shared line fences and how disputes are resolved, and many neighbours simply agree to split it. If they will not, you can build entirely on your own land at your own cost. We are happy to quote it both ways and provide something you can show a neighbour.

How deep do the posts go?

Below the local frost depth, in concrete, which around here means a good deal deeper than the fence-in-a-day videos suggest. Shallow posts heave every winter and that is why so many fences lean. We tell you the depth we dig in the quote, so you can compare it against anyone else's number honestly.

Cedar, pressure treated, vinyl or aluminum?

Pressure treated is the value choice and lasts well if it is kept sealed. Cedar looks better, weathers to grey and costs more. Vinyl is the lowest maintenance and the least repairable — damage a panel and you replace the panel. Aluminum suits pool enclosures and sight lines but gives no privacy. We will price two options side by side rather than push one.

Can you fix a section instead of replacing the whole fence?

Usually, yes, and we would rather do that. Snapped posts, sagging gates and rotten bottom rails are all repairable while the rest is sound. Once most of the posts are moving at the ground line, repairs stop being economical and we will tell you so plainly.
