Who we are

About Brightfold Sheet Metal

Brightfold Sheet Metal can make the parts nobody stocks. Duct fittings sized for the equipment actually installed, chimney flashings bent to the real roof pitch, hood liners built for the hood you bought, and cladding that still looks flat five summers later. Bring us the broken piece or send a photo with a measurement, and we will make one that fits the first time.

What we offer

Our services

Work we take on for homes and businesses in Milton and nearby.

  • 01

    Custom ductwork & fittings

Trunks, take-offs, transitions and elbows fabricated to your actual space rather than forced together from stock parts that choke the airflow.

  • 02

    Range hood & make-up air

Kitchen hood liners and duct runs built for the hood you bought, vented outside on the shortest sensible route with the make-up air the code requires.

  • 03

    Custom flashing & drip edge

Chimney, wall, valley and window flashings brake-formed on site to the real angles, because a folded piece of stock flashing is where most leaks start.

  • 04

    Metal roofing & standing seam

Standing seam and metal panel roofs fabricated and installed, with the trims, closures and snow retention that make them last their full life.

  • 05

    Soffit, fascia & cladding

Aluminum and steel cladding, column wraps and architectural panels bent to fit and fastened so nothing oil-cans in the first heat wave.

  • 06

    Dryer, bath & HRV venting

Rigid metal vent runs for dryers, bath fans and HRVs, sealed and pitched properly so lint and condensate go outside instead of into a joist bay.

  • 07

    Stainless counters & splash backs

Commercial kitchen counters, shelves, hoods and splash backs fabricated in stainless with welded, ground and polished seams a health inspector will pass.

  • 08

    Balancing & airflow correction

Rooms that never heat or cool measured and fixed — undersized returns, crushed flex, missing dampers and runs that were never sized for the equipment.

Good questions

Frequently asked

Nine times out of ten it is the ducts, not the furnace. The usual culprits are a run that is too long or too small, flex duct crushed behind a joist, a damper someone closed years ago, or not enough return air so the room cannot exhaust what you push into it. We measure airflow and temperatures at the register before recommending anything, because replacing equipment will not fix a duct problem.

Yes, and that is often the cheapest route. Bring the old flashing, cap, transition or panel and we will pattern from it and brake a new one, in steel, aluminum, copper or stainless. If it cannot come off the building, we take the measurements and angles on site and form it there.

For anything with real capacity, yes — and once a hood moves a large volume of air, the code also expects make-up air so the house is not depressurised, which can pull combustion gases back down a chimney. Recirculating hoods with charcoal filters are an option in condos and interior kitchens, but they manage smell rather than heat and grease.

A properly detailed metal roof outlives several shingle roofs and sheds snow, which matters on low-slope sections and over entryways. It costs considerably more up front and the details matter enormously — the panels rarely fail, the flashings and fasteners do. If you plan to sell in a few years, shingles are the rational choice.

Small fittings and flashings are usually same or next day. Full duct systems and metal roofing are quoted with a fabrication window because the pieces are made for your building. We give you the date after measuring, not before.
