Who we are

About Dripedge Eavestrough

Dripedge Eavestrough will run seamless eavestrough on site, which means the only joints on your house are the ones the corners require. Before any of it goes up we look at the fascia and the drip edge, because new trough on rotten wood is a repair with a one year lifespan. Runs get pitched to the outlet and tested with a hose, downspouts get carried away from the foundation, and the debris leaves with us.

What we offer

Our services

Work we take on for homes and businesses in Milton and nearby.

  • 01

    Seamless eavestrough installation

Five and six inch aluminum run out in one continuous piece on your roof, so the only joints are at the corners and outlets.

  • 02

    Downspouts & drainage

Downspouts sized and placed to carry the roof's actual volume, extended away from the foundation instead of dumping beside it.

  • 03

    Gutter guards & leaf protection

Screens and covers matched to what actually falls on your roof — pine needles and maple keys defeat most of the cheap systems.

  • 04

    Cleaning & flush-outs

Troughs cleared by hand, downspouts flushed and the roof checked while we are up there, with the debris bagged and taken away.

  • 05

    Fascia, soffit & drip edge

Rotten fascia repaired and capped and drip edge installed before new trough goes up, because hanging new gutter on soft wood buys you a year.

  • 06

    Repairs, resloping & leak sealing

Sagging runs rehung on proper hidden hangers, pitch corrected so water reaches the outlet, and seams and end caps resealed.

  • 07

    Ice damming & heat cable

Trouble spots assessed honestly — most ice damming is an attic problem, and we will say so rather than sell you cable that runs all winter.

  • 08

    Oversized commercial trough

Six inch and larger commercial profiles with heavier gauge aluminum and reinforced hangers for shops, farms and large roofs.

  • Working at Heights trainedCurrent certification, with proper ladder standoffs and fall protection on steep or high work.
  • Pitched to drain, checked with waterRuns are sloped to the outlet and tested with a hose before we pack up, not left to the next storm to prove.

Good questions

Frequently asked

Twice a year for most houses — late spring after the seeds and keys drop, and late fall once the leaves are down. Under mature maples or pines, more often. The signs you are overdue are water spilling over the front edge in a rainstorm, plants growing in the trough, and staining down the fascia.

The good ones are, on the right roof. A fine mesh or reverse-curve system genuinely reduces cleaning on a leaf-heavy lot. Pine needles and maple keys defeat many of the cheaper screens and can make matters worse by trapping debris on top where you cannot reach it. No guard is truly maintenance free, and anyone promising that is overselling.

Five inch handles most residential roofs. Six inch, with larger downspouts, is worth it on big roof areas, steep pitches that dump water fast, valleys that concentrate flow, and anywhere you keep seeing overflow at one particular corner. Downspout count and placement usually matter more than trough width, and that is free to get right.

Usually a missing or incorrectly installed drip edge, so water wicks off the shingle edge and goes behind the trough instead of into it. Sometimes the trough was hung too low or too far out. Either way it rots the fascia over time, so it should be corrected rather than caulked. We check the drip edge on every quote.

Well away from the foundation — extensions, splash blocks or a buried line to daylight — because a downspout dumping at the wall is one of the most common causes of a wet basement. If yours connect into the old weeping tile or a municipal storm connection, we will tell you what your city currently allows, as many now require disconnection.

No, and we would rather say so before taking your money. Ice dams are caused by heat escaping into the attic, melting snow that refreezes at the cold eave. Eavestrough gets destroyed by the ice; it does not cause it. The real fix is air sealing, insulation and attic ventilation. We can install heat cable as a stopgap, but we will tell you it is a stopgap.
